I know this is old news by now, but I’m a little mad at South Park. The whole episode “200”/”201″ thing is really annoying. I still cannot watch episode 201 on-line (like I have to, seeing as I have no cable). And they should have known better.

When they did the “Cartoon Wars” two-parter, the Mohammadeans made the same stink they made for the most recent two-parter. If they just told the story as a one-parter (or, possibly better yet, killed off Mohammad in part-one), I could have seen the whole thing. But noooooooooo, they had to make it a two-parter despite knowing that Comedy Central would wuss out at the first wiff of Mohammadean ire.

My other Pop Culture note concerns Siege, Marvel’s latest crossover do-dad. Specifically, some comments made by one of the Deadpool cos-play video makers I favorited from the Youtube (Nota Bene: crudeness ahoy!):

1) Yes, Sentry was lame and I’m glad he is dead. As I am glad Ares, Loki, and Asgard are dead too.

2) Loki was trying to use Osborn to send Asgard back to wherever Asgard was supposed to be, not trying to smash Asgard into dust.

3) The throw Sentry in the sun thing was more for a burial than a “let’s make sure” thang.

4) As to why Siege was so rushed: I don’t think Marvel was expecting Obama to win the election. The “Bendis Bummer Age” (as I am now calling Secret War [Latveria] to Siege #4) was a reflection of Marvel’s abhorrence of conservativism. Secret War [Latveria] and Civil War were stabs against interventionist foreign policy and anti-terrorist domestic policies, respectively. The Dark Reign storyline, while interesting, did not fit the new Hopey/Changey vibe (aka Heroic Age) they wanted once Obama won. They got out of Dark Reign as quickly as they possibly could without making people think they did not develop the arc.

…by someone who put in more effort than I did.

UPDATE: I guess I need to examine my general feelings of “meh” to the whole Obama speech.

We know Obama would rather have fun with his pie-in-the-sky “moderate” Mohammadean appeasement than acknowledge that America is the world’s last great hope for peace (at least until Jesus comes back, of course), in no small part due to those Judeo-Christian values the country was founded on. He said as much in that Al-Arabiya interview he did a while back. And I have been noting Obama’s various attempts to degrade our Judeo-Christian heritage at various supposedly Catholic institutions. I guess that I’m a little burnt out with his one-note attempts; I know I burned a ton of ire about that interview.

And, barring any new level of shock (or he takes a break only to restart with new vigor), it just feels like more of the same. When he comes up with something new (and this speech was not all that different from the Janurary interview), I’ll generate a more fervent response.

Obama’s Mohammadean Speech in Cairo Text.

It’s long. It’s filled with liberal doublespeak. It tiptoes through some potentially touchy subjects (like pushing for women’s literacy in Mohammadean countries and opposition to Iran’s nuclear weapon ambitions).

It will take some time to see what kind of effect the speech will have (if any) in the long term. Will Al-Jazera and the like just use Obama quoting a translation of the Koran as propaganda? Will people start burning him in effigy when they realize his tiptoes are heartfelt? Will the Mohammadeans actually buy into his calls for “common ground” and reject orthodox Islam?

I guess we will see.

The Globe says Obama is a sodomite! He regularly has coked-out love making sessions with another guy! It even made the big story part of the cover; I saw it on the tabloid rack at Sack ‘n’ Save!

Seriously, though, if the Globe has half the credibility the New York Times has (which they very well might), Obama might want to watch out while making out with the Mohammadean terrorist appeasers. If they think he is actually enjoying it, Biden might be President soon enough. They, unlike the must feared “right-wing extremists”, make it a habit to kill sodomites.

As I noted a couple of days ago, Mr. Obama made his first interview as president with Al-Arabiya. I implied that this shows cowardice on the part of Mr. Obama, granting that yearned for first interview with a supposedly pro-American Middle Eastern station instead of somewhere that he would be challenged by the people he has yet to win over here. You know, talk to Rush or somebody like that. I guess he was expecting a fluff interview over there.

I guess I was wrong about that.

I did not get a chance to see the interview (I did read the transcript linked below), but Mr. Shapiro did. And the interview is very telling in another way. Obama has little desire to defend us from the Mohammedans who wish to crush America (and the rest of the West) under the Sharia Law foot; he would rather appease them like a modern-day Chamberlain pleading with the tyrants of the world to be satisfied with modern day Czechoslovakia ( letting them annihilate Israel, prosecuting critics of Mohammedanism as purveyors of hate speech, et cetera). And, at risk of losing the argument by “bringing out the Hitler“, we all saw how that worked out…

A look at the snippets Mr. Shaprio pulled suggests Obama views the solution to Mohammedan terror is compromise on our part and not compromise on theirs:

“[All] too often the United States starts by dictating. So let’s listen.”

“[The] language we use matters. And what we need to understand is, is that there are extremist organizations — whether Muslim or any other faith in the past — that will use faith as a justification for violence. We cannot paint with a broad brush a faith as a consequence of the violence that is done in that faith’s name.”

“And my job is to communicate to the American people that the Muslim world is filled with extraordinary people who simply want to live their lives and see their children live better lives.”

Not to belabor the point Mr. Shapiro has made, but notice that Obama says we need to listen, we need use inoffensive language, we need to see the part of the world that ferments Mohammedan terror as “just like us”. There is a minor call for Mohammedans to listen, to stop calling us “The Great Satan”, to see the West as decent, hard-working folks (in the parallel line “My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy”); but the big thrust of it is that the whole terrorism thing is America’s fault.

No, we are just to think of the war on terror like the Rosie O’Donnell parody from American Carol. If I had the “documentary” the Rosie character made, I’d insert it here.

I’m not going to go so far as to say that we have lost. We did not lose the Cold War because Jimmy Carter was president for 4 years of it. We probably can endure 4 years of Obama undermining the current war, too; but it is unsettling to think that Obama is going forward with this kind of mindset.
